Calculator deposit dropdown

Open a merchant → Overview → Credit products. The column is Min Deposit %. Edit the cell, then Save credit products. That is the live admin chrome for the storefront calculator deposit dropdown (Humm, Snap, Propensio, Zopa).

The calculator only greys out options when the selected product has a rule. A Quick-Start badge is not a calculator with a deposit dropdown.

On the storefront calculator (and admin calculator preview) those lenders share one deposit-dropdown contract. The rules you save here are what the dropdown reads.

No min or fixed rule​

The dropdown keeps Select optional deposit.... An empty value still quotes as 0% deposit. There is no “deposit is required” caption.

This is the default for merchants with no per-product rule (for example Solar Acre). Propensio used to skip this contract, so optional deposit did not appear even when no rule existed.

Minimum percentage​

A Min Deposit % of N on the assigned product:

  • greys out options below N%
  • auto-selects the required %
  • still allows higher steps (20% minimum still allows 25%, 30%, …)

A minimum on only some of the merchant’s products does not lock the dropdown for the others. Partner API still raises a quoted deposit to the minimum for products that have a rule.

Merchant-wide floor​

Partner API treats a merchant-wide deposit as a floor, not an override. Authorised product quotes use max(merchant global, product rule) so a lender minimum (for example Humm) cannot be lowered. Not-authorised merchants still get an empty products array, but the FCA path applies the same floor and emits deposit_adjustment with an empty affected_products list when the requested deposit is below it. Admin still authors per-product floors on the Credit products Min Deposit % column, then Save credit products. A runtime merchantMinimumDeposit object (Field reference: Merchant-wide minimum customer deposit (floor over per-product rules). Empty/absent = no global floor.) can exist on merchant configuration and is visible in View JSON. There is no separate Credit Products control for that object yet. When it is absent, the FCA empty-products path infers a floor from uniform per-product minimum_percentage rules (inferFromProducts).

Fixed percentage​

A fixed_percentage of N pins exactly N% (other steps disabled). Admin’s Min Deposit % column writes minimum_percentage. Use a fixed rule only when the product is configured that way in runtime config.

Manual change and URL deposit​

If the customer (or a URL deposit parameter) already chose a value, the dropdown does not overwrite it.

Propensio Apply start​

Separate from the calculator dropdown: when Finance Assistant starts Propensio, deposit on the lender form follows these rules.

  • Blank or “No deposit” (0%) — FinMatch does not send deposit_amount. Propensio leaves the deposit slider editable.
  • Explicit £0 — sending 0 locks the deposit at £0 on Propensio’s form. That happens only when deposit is configured as £0.
  • Positive deposit % — FinMatch sends that amount in pence and locks it.

Headless Propensio (Apply opens Propensio without enquiry / Bon Voyage) still uses these apply-start rules. Enable Propensio must be Yes.
