Finance offer summary settings

Open Finance Offer Summary Settings from App → Features → Finance offer summary cog. The heading on the page is Finance Offer Summary. Header actions are Back to Merchant and Back to Merchants. Save settings and Reload sit under the accordions.

This page is independent of Pay monthly settings. The page subtitle is Manage embeddable finance offer summary independently from pay monthly message settings. Embed copy strings still live on the merchant-detail Finance Offer Summary card, not here.

Toggle and embed​

  • Finance offer summary enabled — Yes writes the embed into runtime for this merchant. No leaves the mount empty. This toggle is storefront embed / Quick-Start badge only. It does not decide whether Partner API can quote.
  • Lenders (comma-separated) — which lenders the embed (and the Learn more chooser) may offer. Empty means every lender on the Features tile. Placeholder: snap, zopa.
  • Default price context amount (£) — fallback when the page has no detected price. Used by Auto template mode and the preview iframe.
  • Mount ID — storefront div id. Default finance_offer_summary.
  • Template mode — ⓘ How template modes work. Options: Auto - price template when a price is detected, otherwise no-price, No-price template (always), or Non-regulated template (always). See FOS template mode.

If FCA status is Not authorised, Template mode shows Locked to Non-regulated template. This merchant's FCA status is Not authorised (see the Merchant card on the profile page). The template mode cannot be changed while that status applies, and Partner API responses exclude products / rep examples. The storefront also skips rate-card downloads; Partner API may still emit deposit_adjustment. See Merchant FCA status.

Partner API quotes​

Partner API representative examples fail with MERCHANT_CONFIGURATION_INCOMPLETE / missing finance_offer_summary when the merchant profile template string is empty, even if credit products are assigned and even if Finance offer summary enabled is No.

Quotes need the FOS template strings on the merchant profile. Seed them with Save credit products on the Lender card, or save them on the Overview Finance Offer Summary card. M234575 quotes with the embed toggle off because that profile string exists.

Cloudflare KV Finance Assistant key pairing is not on the Partner API quote path. Test keys and live keys read the same merchants.json. Sandbox preview is a different system and was not this error for M801688. Invalid Request Origin / merchant_finance_url is a different code.

Quick-Start overrides​

Same fields as the merchant Quick-Start tile, authored here so operators do not leave Settings to change the floating badge. ⓘ What does the Quick-Start tile do?

  • Style and Shape under Badge — colourway 1 / 2 / 3 and Badge (2 rounded top corners) vs Pill (4 rounded corners). Hint: Colourway and shape — inherits lender design tokens unless overridden here. Colours and text stay on Lender settings → Quick-Start.
  • Orientation — Horizontal badge or Vertical badge until a breakpoint overrides it. Hint: Default badge orientation on the storefront unless a breakpoint overrides it.
  • Default position — Y/X anchors and offsets per orientation. Hint: Anchor and offset per orientation. Highlighted card matches orientation above.
  • Stacking — Z-index of the floating badge.
  • Responsive breakpoints — override style, shape, orientation, or position at a viewport width. + Add position breakpoint appends a row. Hint: Override style, shape, orientation or position at specific viewport widths.

When the Features tile Badge column has no lenders (or the badge is off): Badge currently disabled. Tick lender(s) in the Badge column of the Finance offer summary feature tile to enable the floating Quick-Start badge for this merchant. Empty preview: Enable at least one lender in the Badge column to preview the Quick-Start badge. If the builder script is missing: Quick-Start preview unavailable (builder script not loaded).

Preview and debug​

Settings preview uses finance offer summary settings only (not pay monthly). The Quick-Start column shows Default preview with Uses your style, orientation and position defaults. Current finance offer summary config is the JSON for this visit. Footer status starts as Edit settings to update finance offer summary behavior.

Save settings​

Save settings writes financeFeaturesVisibility to runtime (PUT /admin/merchant-config/:id) then PATCHes the merchant profile. The button label stays Save settings (it does not switch to a busy label). Footer status:

  1. Busy: Saving...
  2. Success: Saved to runtime config + merchant profile. Same string as Pay Monthly Save.
  3. Failure: the API message, or Failed to save settings. The same fallback is toasted.

Reload success: Settings reloaded. Failure uses the Finance Assistant reload toast (API reason).
